Cyndi, I am sorry you feel that way and I want you to know that I take full responsibility. I am not sure which particular remark or response to a review you are referring to by me. Please understand, when someone unnecessarily attacks my business or my staff with unfounded or uneducated remarks, I am going to respond back to that attack in a way I feel best represents me and my business. Unfortunately, social media has allowed people to be overnight experts at everything. When we make a mistake or miss an opportunity to be excellent for you, our guest, we take immediate ownership. While you may not care for some of my responses to certain reviews, I will always be very transparent, up front and honest. If you can not appreciate that, then you are right, Basecamp is not the place for you. I completely understand. However, you will not find an owner that cares more about your visit being excellent than me. But, I'm definitely not consumed with being "politically correct". Thank you
I was SO disappointed because we came to get our favorite pancakes such as the s’mores, cinnamon roll, and lemon ricotta pancakes just to get told that they don’t sell them anymore. The menu has changed drastically, it’s the same as the Marietta local but it’s not the original Base Camp that we all know and love. The food isn’t even the same, I really hope they bring their old menu back because that’s what made them original and different from the other breakfast spots in kennesaw.
Went for a nice Sunday brunch and was met with mediocre customer service and very very AVERAGE tasting food. Would the food have tasted better if the service was better, who knows? My wife and friend both received there plates and were able to finish their brunch before I even received my own. No one came to check how the experience was or any apology to rectify the situation. Also who runs out of biscuits on a Sunday at 10:30 but I suppose those would have just been AVERAGE as well.
Went to Basecamp for the first time today. Love the atmosphere and the wide open feel of the dining area. The food was pretty darn good and this will be my go to breakfast place when I am not visiting the Marietta Local. (same owner) If only they served the Eggs Benedict, one can wish, still, it's a fantastic low key place to enjoy a meal.
Cute place. You order at the front then they send you to search for a table they put your name on. As a first timer it would have been nice for the order taker to let us know what to do. Doesn't seem set up for their process as the lobby area was very crowded. Once we got to a table the personnel was very helpful and accomodating. Food was great and the portions large enough to take half home.
Went hiking at Kennesaw Mtn this past weekend and decided to stop by BaseCamp on our way home. Me and my husband both got a skillet and thoroughly enjoyed it. With all the hiking we do I'm sure we will be back sooner rather than later.
We did take out and it was excellent! Good home cooked meal during these times. The watermelon salad is to die for! Everything is excellent here!
We’ve been waiting to try this restaurant for a long time, as it’s right down the street from us. Literally every time we drove to it, it was closed. We couldn’t figure it out considering it’s a breakfast/brunchy place and we came for bkfst. Anyhow, I was finally able to go and looking forward to the advertised vegan options available (since there aren’t many nearby), for my husband.. and we got there and there were none.. like zero- they offered a salad at 9am..hmm. If you’re on a limited menu, that’s cool- we get it, but the very least you can do, is have some oatmeal with some fruit & nuts, some home fries(hash browns), or granola with almond milk or something—- literally, he sat and watched me eat. 😞 What I had was good, (hot chicken), but unfortunately, we probably won’t go back since he cannot have anything.
The chicken was very tasty. It was nice and flavorful but a couple bites were a little too salty. The biscuits are nice and big. My toddler and I were able to share the biscuit and still had some left over. It was pretty busy but luckily I called ahead so I was able to get in and out.
My husband loves this place. He usually gets a skillet breakfast, and raves about it. Today he got an open faced meatloaf sandwich, and loved it. Everything we've had so far was great. Gets busy on weekends, be prepared to wait.
Loved it! Great atmosphere and the food was delicious. I have the breakfast burrito and my husband had the French toast and chicken. Did not disappoint. Actually craving it again.
Really cute place. Beautiful in space. Can be really really busy at the checkout line. It'd be nice if they had a few more vegan and vegetarian options. Soy milk, almond milk, vegetarian protein. It's in a progressive location where a lot of Fitness enthusiasts will go. I had the lemon pancakes. They were really good.
Amazing food, especially the fried chicken. However, you have to wait in a single line to place order before you can sit and wait for your food and the line was about 15 minutes long on a Saturday morning. It would be much better if they just serve you at a table like a normal restaurant. But, five stars for excellent food and great service by servers who frequently checked on us despite the heavy volume.
The food is really good. They have not prepared my egg temperature right at any of my experiences so far but they were still good. For this reason, I could not issue a 5 star. I'm sure they will fix this and I will upgrade their rating. The place is clean. The service is good. The menu has a good variety of selections. The bathrooms are single use. They are clean. They have changing tables in the men's restroom. They still use handles on the faucets so they are not as sanctuary. However, they have motion sensored paper towel dispensers. The eating area is clean. The drink station is neat and clean. I eat here regularly.
Over 100$ and 50 minute wait for 15 bacon egg and cheese biscuits. Get home 20 minutes away.... It's plain bacon biscuits, didn't get what I paid for. I was furious, but I can assure you, they won't get me like that again. I'm buying a industrial business in the neighborhood and will never take my employees there.
Same great food as the local, none of the parking price or hassles.
BaseCamp Marietta Local is currently accepting advance orders for pickup. They coordinated a local pickup at our neighborhood clubhouse with our large subdivision a couple of days ago. We are so glad we did. We ordered chicken and dumplings, with a big side of smoked wings. The wings were good size, had a nice smokey taste and tender. The 4lbs of chicken and dumplings were as good as we have ever had. Lots of chicken and dumplings in the mix, providing a generous portion for 8.people. The prices for this quality of food were outstanding, especially for the chicken and dumplings. Check their current menu and prices at themariettalocal.com
I wish the food would have been warmer, and it was a little greasy but the flavor was very good. I really enjoyed the setting and the display. Very cute and worth a stop! The veggie skillet was a little greasy.
Two very different experiences for breakfast and lunch. Our first visit was for lunch and we both ordered skillets. Neither was outstanding, and both were much less tasty than food at the sister restaurant, Marietta Local. As the previous tenant here was a favorite for travel breakfast, we ordered biscuits for pick up to start a road trip. These were large and fluffy. My fried chicken was crispy, while maintaining an inner moistness. My wife had a similar experience. Our son ordered a plain biscuit, and was perfectly happy. We're going to try again for lunch in the future given our great experience at the Marietta Local, but our first visit left us disappointed.
You know the food is good, it’s really good. The pancake plates are fun. When we went the special was chicken fried steak with gravy and fried okra on the side. One of the best chicken fried steaks and gravy I’ve ever had. So for what it is, the food gets a 5/5. My 4 star rating is for two reasons:1, I don’t like the fast casual part (order at counter, getting your own drinks, coffee, condiments, etc), it feels unnatural in that place; 2, Cups are all plastic.
